The Call to Nigeria

Anglicans of Nigeria and AFM have been partnering together since 1998. Nigeria has a rich Anglican tradition that saw Africa’s first Anglican bishop, Samuel Ajayi Crowther, and continues today with many great Christian leaders. Nigeria  is home to more Anglicans than England.

Over 500 languages are spoken in Nigeria. Even with the strong Anglican heritage there remain  91 people groups that are classified as unreached with the gospel.

It is likely Nigeria’s growing population will overtake the US population by 2050. It is the largest producer of oil on the continent of Africa.

AFM-Nigeria has trained over 600 Nigerian clergy and leaders, 6 bishops, and commissioned 12 priests to work with unreached people groups in Africa. Work continues in a dozen nations throughout Africa and the Middle East, and among multiple people groups.

AFM-Nigeria continues to train short term workers through a training college for Frontier Missions.

This video helps paint a picture of what AFM-Nigeria has accomplished and offers some opportunities for you to partner with AFM-Nigeria as they labor to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.
