New Wineskins is an opportunity for cross-cultural workers and all other mission-minded people to meet, network, learn, and worship together at one time and one place.
At this triennial event, clergy and lay-people from all corners of the world talked about the mighty works of God and opportunities for further ministry. AFM was very well represented by our Executive Director, the Reverend Chris Royer, many of AFM’s cross-cultural workers, members of the AFM Board of Directors, and staff and friends.
One highlight was the luncheon AFM hosted on Friday, April 8th. It was well attended, with around 300 guests. We were treated to presentations by The Reverend Chris Royer, the Reverend Tad de Bordenave (AFM founder), and The Rev. Canon Norman Beale, the first Dean of Nepal. We also had wonderful presentations by AFM cross-cultural workers to the Middle East and to Southeast Asia.
In conjunction with New Wineskins was the AFM Conference, which began on April 5th and ended at the beginning of New Wineskins on April 7th. We had the opportunity to meet or reconnect, share and pray, and to Skype with those in our AFM family serving all around the world. It was a wonderful physical and virtual reunion, the perfect preparation for the New Wineskins Conference!
We praise God for this time of refreshment as we continue to reach out to unreached people groups, to regions where the church is not, with the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
