Position Announcement: Executive Director

Anglican Frontier Missions (AFM), a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an Executive Director who is passionate about reaching the least evangelized people groups in the world with the Gospel message.

AFM’s vision is to see biblically based, indigenous churches multiplying in the 25 largest people groups where there is little or no Christian presence. To achieve this vision AFM seeks – within the United States – to mobilize congregations, mentor individuals and send missionaries out into the harvest field. Additionally, to achieve this vision, AFM partners with the 85-million members of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Finally, for achievement of this vision, AFM works together with other organizations and denominations who share our biblical values and approach.

The chief role of the Executive Director is to oversee the operations of this growing ministry. He/She will help recruit and oversee missionaries in the field. The successful candidate will manage staff and volunteers while working with the board of directors to set organizational strategy. Responsibilities also include the implementation of fundraising and program objectives, networking and partnering with global south leaders, management of AFM’s financial resources and the leadership of the agency in fulfillment of its vision.

Candidates must have a strong Christian faith consistent with the Bible, historic creeds, and the classic Anglican tradition. Overseas ministry experience in the “10-40” window is required. Strong administrative and cross-cultural skills, evidence of leading an organization, fund-raising success, knowledge of current mission trends, and an open attitude towards other biblically orthodox traditions are essential. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and be fluent in English and, preferably, one other modern language.

Some domestic and international travel required. Send cover letter, resume, and personal statement of faith to AFM Search Committee by March 20, 2014 in care of cynthiadarling@cox.net. No phone calls, please.
