AFM Board
This groups purpose is to facilitate communication between members of the board. It is a private group.
Hello AFM Board from Pittsburgh!
Dear All:
Many thanks for your prayers. Currently, I'm in PIttsburgh. This morning I met with Rev Aaron Zimmerman, associate rector of St Stephens Sewickley, PA. He served in Kazahkztan with Campus Crusade and now leads the young adult ministry here. He's interested in short term trips for young adults to UPGs inside the US. So, we hope this will be promising. He recently published an article about crosscultural missions in Christianity Today. I thanked him for his church's financial support and trust this will continue.
New Office!
Dear Dave, Wright, Frank, Patrick and Cynthia:
Thanks for your support and prayers during the June 1st office move for AFM. We're now established at 1791 Cambridge Drive, Suite 200, Richmond, VA 23238. We welcome visitors!
Gabriel Mayer, youth minister at St Matthews church, and Jeff Jagger, a parishoner, both helped lift tables, bookcases, furniture up and down stairs. Paula and Rebecca did a fine job, too. We are still awaiting Verizon Wireless's internet connection in the office. So, we're moved in!
Our next board finance meeting, July 8th, will be held here.
Cheers, JULIAN
Good Shepherd Church Richmond VA
Dear All:
Just a brief update to thank you for your prayers yesterday for both Tad preaching in Phoenix and myself in Richmond. Haven't had a chance to connect with Tad or Charlie yet, but hope all went well.
Good Shepherd Church in Richmond is basically a new church for AFM. Their rector, Dr Ross Wright, is very keen to strengthen ties with AFM. For Pentecost Sunday, I preached on the biblical basis of missions, conducted an adult education hour, then had lunch with the Senior Warden, his wife and other lay leaders. It was a good start to our relationship.
AFM Board Communication
Dear Patrick, Frank, Charlie, Cynthia, and Dave, and Wright:
Hope you guys are doing well! We trust that this format will provide a regular means for updates and discussions as a board. So, do feel free to post comments, questions, and enable us to get the juices flowing.
In this post, I wanted to give you a few broad stroke updates about where AFM is at.
1. Bob Thornton: I received a letter from Bob after New Wineskins stating with regret that he would resign from the AFM Board.
